On our own again, kinda…

Well, our tour is officially over. I have decided that I am NOT going to write a blog tonight as I am just too tired, but I am going to write an overview so I can fill in the blanks later.

Tour ended last night, breakfast never happened this morning. Instead the sun was shining bright and so we called Mike and Claudia and asked if they’d still be up for an afternoon at the ruins followed by some gelato! They said of course and we hopped on a train and headed west!

We met them at the train station, headed to the ruins, then to pizza, ice cream, and back on the train. Instead of heading back we decided to continue west for a few more stops and check out an Italian beach! Yep, that is right, today we were at the Mediterranean sea! Well, at least we think we were. It is the Mediterranean out here, right? Regardless, we went to a new ocean today. Pretty awesome.

Hopped on the train and headed back into downtown Rome.

We napped, went to dinner with 2 ladies that are still in town, walked forever to get to the best gelato in Rome (yep, 2 gelato’s today….a good day!) and then walked forever back to our hotel…and here I am. Exhausted. Totally exhausted.

Just called Nana before turning in for the night. She wants to go home! It was good to hear her be feisty! She hates it there and feels trapped and ignored. So sad. I wish I could be there to entertain her and keep her company. But, no, I’m stuck on vacation. A terrible thing? Of course not. Just feeling a little bit torn. Hang in there Nana! We’ll get you home as soon as you’re moving around again!!!

Nite nite!

Nic
PS: Shelly and Martha are out of town and our blog views have dropped down into the 30′s! You two really ARE our number one fans! Though I’m pretty sure Sharon and Mom and Dad are accounting for 15 each! Thanks guys for reading!

Too funny that the blog counts have dropped!! I had a feeling it was all of us ‘repeat offenders’ that check in like every 20 min! You guys are going to have legs of steal when you come home from all of your walking. Keep having fun. Can’t wait to see you!

Hi there, Please e-mail us with Tom’s phone #. Nana called us today and wants Tom to go there on Monday. We don’t have Tom’s # and don’t know where Nana got moved to. She used someone’s cell phone and we couldn’t call her back. Sorry to have to bother you with this, I know you will be busy when you get home. We really don’t mind calling Tom or Nana we just need phone #’s.
Now back to your trip. We are so glad you had a fun day exploring Rome. It is fun to get off the beaten path and see what’s out there. We looked at a map and from what we can see it was the Mediterranean Sea you were at or at least a part of it. We were also in ITALY today or at least an Italian celebration. It was also a car show. Anyway they had Italian music and food. A lot of Italian traditions, but no gelato!! It was a really fun day and we thought about you a lot.
Let us know what we can do on this end.
    Love, Mom and Dad

Spoke with your mother tonight. They arrived in Tahoe and saw Nana today also. Said she was doing well. Probably put on a good show for them, but Rowena was encouraged by the visit. She is going to stop on her way home from Tahoe. Do you see these comments from old blogs?? Lots of hugs and kisses..Auntie
