Switzerland to Austria with a surprise in between!

This is our 6th day on the tour. Well, as sad as it was to leave Switzerland this morning. the tour must go on. We packed up last night so we could sleep in as late as possible this morning which was until 7am. If you recall, I wrapped up last nights blog around 3am. You’re welcome. Our awesome driver Ben had the bus ready and waiting right on time. He rocks. We all loaded up, Kevin and I nearly last to get on and our same seats were availalble, so we each had 2 seats to ourselves across the isle from one another. Score. The drive out of Switzerland is just breathtaking. I really do love it there and can not wait to go back! We have a lot of ground to cover on this tour, but the bus rides are really great. Along the way Colleen either tells us about our...

Before you freak out

The hotel in Austria has limited Internet and cell coverage. As a teaser we ended last night getting drunk with about 10 people from our group; including the 6 Canadians and our guide in a small hotel bar. Today we are off to a castle and luge. Hiya!

Hello everyone! I was just taking some time to reply to comments (my 10pm nap has screwed up my sleep schedule a bit for the night…a bad thing for me…possibly a good thing for you!) and thought I’d do a little blog post of my own! First of all I must thank Lightning for picking up our slack during Kevin’s bout of Montezumas. You are a true friend, and I am impressed with your ability to obtain photos we haven’t even posted yet! You really do work for the government, don’t you?! For those of you that haven’t got a clue what I’m talking about check out: http://www.jordangoesblogging.blogspot.com Today was an amazing day! If Kevin had to pick a day to be sick, yesterday was the right choice. I know he summed it all up...

Hiking in the Alps – Tour Day 5

I woke up today feeling better than I expected to. Though my neck and back muscles are sore from getting sick my stomach and digestive track are functioning well. Nic and I rolled out of bed at 9, in time to have a little breakfast before we had to head out on the hike. I had a small bowl of granola and some fruit salad. Nic went to the store to buy some chocolate for our picnic. On her way to the store she encountered another cow parade. It seams they move the cows up and down the mountains at different times of the year. We have now been greeted by cow parades twice in 2 days. Pretty cool. The hike started with a gondola ride up the mountain side. This wasn’t the type of gondola you see in Disneyland or in Tahoe but a 10ft wide by 20ft long hanging box. We...

On the road to Switzerland – Tour Day 4

Well, as I stated today started with me being very very sick. I was up all night fighting my stomach, digestive system and the toilet. At 10:15 we made our way down to the bus as we had to head out of France by 10:30 to make it to Switzerland. The bus ride started out fine. I was hopped up on Immodium and Pepto, nervous about making it through a bus ride I drug myself into a middle seat near the “emergency” bathroom. 2 hours later we made it to the first stop without any issues. We took an hour break, I drank a can of apple juice outside while Nic had lunch inside. I couldn’t stand the smell of food so I just waited patiently. Back on the bus and into the Alps. This is where the bus ride takes a turn. I sat up front so I could see the road and...

Paris – Tour Day 3

“Hi Mona, I’m Kevin!” Our day started early, we had to be in the lobby, bags in hand, by 8:45am. We set our alarm for 7:30am, finally drug our tired bones out of bed at 8:05am and were downstairs in the lobby by 8:38am…plenty of time for breakfast! Kevin had the hotel pastries and I walked to the bakery down the street and bought 2 fresh pastries for the road. Mmm. We (miraculously) all made it the two blocks to the bus with our luggage in tow and were on our way to meet Mona shortly after 9am. Getting on and off of the bus is quite a site. All 28 of us follow our momma duck Colleen down the street with our luggage in tow, wheels rumbling the entire time. We are a parade of tourists! See, the tour bus is so big that it can’t fit down...

We are here

The reason you didn’t get a blog post last night is because we came home from dinner and I started getting sick within 30 seconds. I spent more time over or on the can than I spent in bed. It continued into the AM and we are now sitting on a bus driving to Switzerland while I am hopped up on pepto, immodium, and Gatorade type fluids. Nic did write a blog and we will try to post tonight. Hang in there everyone. Hello out there?!

Just wanted to take a second to say thanks to all of our loyal readers! Shelly, Autie, Mom & Dad…you’re our #1 fans! Though, you are only 4 people, yet we receive at least 40 hits each and every day, sometimes upwards of 100! So, we want to know who else is out there? Stalkers, reveal yourselves! We just finished our last dinner in Paris. We walked to a neighborhood close by, picked a nice looking restaurant and had a great dinner. I had a very successful veggie dinner which consisted of mushroom risotto and a salad with roasted potatoes, roasted tomatoes, green beans, peas, cheese and a delicious vinaigrette to top it off. Mmmm. Kevin, on the other hand, had an appetizer platter of mixed cured meats with bread and butter followed by a steak with...

Paris Day 5 – Tour Day 2

Well, today started pretty early. Nic and I were talking last night that we are with group of morning people. They pretty much all have kids and have gone through that phase of your life when you HAVE to get up at 5am. We, have not. So, we were supposed to meet the group at 8:45. We wanted to be downstairs at 8:15 for breakfast. We were downstairs at 8:40 with 5 minutes to spare to eat breakfast. I know, I know, no one reading this is surprised. I needed Colleen to come bang on our door at 7:30 like Dad did when I was a kid; or like he did last month. So anyway, we made it downstairs in time to wolf down a croissant with a little bit of cheese and some orange juice before we headed to the Metro. Now, let me tell you, getting 29 people onto 1 metro train, at 9:00...
